Ten10 Racing begins winter testing

It was a pleasure to get a dry day at the track after weeks of rain.

Vinoth and Karthik joined us, revving their machines up in testing session for the 600cc category. The new face in the Ten10 Racing fold, Henna, was also there to try out for Group B and Group D on a Yamaha R15.

The Ten10 Racing Honda CBR600RR was completely de-tuned with a very neutral suspension ready on the track. Ramji out on the track to make sure that it was perfect to roll for the day. A few laps into the test ride were enough to gauge the bike and introduce minor tweaks in the configuration. First to go out was Karthik, and after a few laps of warming up, he was quick to understand the character of the 600cc power house. His first reaction was that of respect for the bike. Vinoth was the next to swing his leg over the bike. He was quick to make himself comfortable with the wide array of power that the bike offers to the rider.

Yamaha R15 first timer, Henna was back on the saddle after a long break from the race track and was quick to adapt to the 4-stroke bike. His first outing on the Ten10 Racing Yamaha R15 (Group D) was spent on developing an understanding for the flow of the circuit. Henna took his time to put the Yamaha R15 through its paces owing to the sheer aggressiveness of the bike. He was especially amazed at the grip offered by the Bridgestone Battle Axe tyres that we were trying out for the first time.

Initially, the race engineers struggled to find the right tyre pressures to get a balance between grip and feedback from the tyres, but in a few laps, they were able to see an incredible drop in lap times, coming purely from the grip levels of the new Bridgestone tyres.

The Dunlop Sportmax GP tyres also provided a consistent grip throughout the testing session and gave a neutral feel to the first-time riders.

Joel Joseph, the technical genius behind Ten10 Racing, was pleased with the outcome of the testing results. Joel commented, “We are definitely heading in the right direction and our packages are just coming together. The lap times prove that the hard work put in by us is paying off.”

Ten10 Racing’s Sharat Kumar was very pleased with the overall testing and provided valuable feedback in the area of rider ergonomics on Ten10 Racing’s Yamaha R15 (Group B). Sarat is looking forward to an opportunity to put himself next to the top talent in the region.

Ten10 Racing is very close to announcing its new venture, Ten10 Racing Performance. With Joel Joseph bidding farewell to his 9 to 6 job and working full time with Ten10 Racing, it seems to be the direction that he would like to take for the future. “Put our experience to work for you today”, said Joel, summing up the testing session and his career move.
